Shopping for a new computer can be frustrating, especially if you’re on a budget. It also can be quite confusing, with all those specifications to think about — be it RAM, storage, or processing power.
There’s no need to worry, though, as we’ve got your back. We’ve sorted through the web and picked the best laptop deals available for March 2020. And there are plenty of laptop sales to be had right now. Our picks cover everything you can think of — 2-in-1s, Surface Pro deals, MacBook deals, Chromebook deals, and more.
One of the best laptops on the market today — and in fact, for several years running — is Dell’s diminutive XPS 13. The latest version has the same tiny bezels as always but puts the webcam above the display where it belongs, removing one of the only complaints we had about the machine.
It’s incredibly well-built, looks great, and performs well. It even has a hinge that is designed to open easily while also providing just the right amount of rigidity to keep it in place.
There’s a new XPS 13 version that was recently announced that makes some significant changes to the laptop, including switching the display to the productivity-friendly 16:10 aspect ratio. However, the 7390 model with Intel’s 10th-gen Comet Lake CPUs has been reduced to $1,300 for a configuration with a Core i7-10710U CPU, 8GB of RAM, a 13.3-inch Full HD non-touch display, and a 256GB SSD. The upcoming version is looking like a standout laptop, but the 7390 is an excellent option as well.
HP Spectre x360 13 (2019)
If you’re looking for a convertible 2-in-1 that works as well as a laptop as it does as a tablet, then you need to look no further than the HP Spectre x360 13. The latest “gem-cut” version had a perfect score in our review on the strength of its stunning good looks, excellent performance, high-quality build, and mind-blowing battery life.
Right now, HP has a high-end configuration with a Core i5 and 256GB SSD on sale for $420 off, bringing the price down to $730. That’s a nice break, but keep an eye on this one because HP has been aggressive in pricing this version. That’s probably for a good reason: HP has just announced a new version of the Spectre x360 13 that fixes its one issue — larger bezels — while upgrading to Intel’s 10th-generation CPUs and adding a 4K OLED display option.
Microsoft Surface Pro 6
Microsoft’s excellent Surface Pro series continues to be one of the best attempts at bridging the gap between tablets and laptops. The new Surface Pro 6 is actually our favorite 2-in-1 Windows 10 computer on the market, picking up where the older Surface Pro model from 2017 left off. It features a solid build quality and superb battery life. As great as the Surface Pro 6 is, though, you typically have to buy the keyboard case separately (and it’s not really a “2-in-1” laptop without it).
At $300 off, this previous-generation tablet makes for a great laptop — though the type cover is sold separately. These deals come and go fairly frequently, but this is a solid price for one of Microsoft’s best 2-in-1 models. That remains true even though Microsoft just announced the Surface Pro 7 at its October 2 in New York. In fact, you’ll likely get better battery life with the older version if that matters to you.
Acer Aspire E15
Acer might be known for its Chromebooks, but this brand built its name on affordable Windows laptops like the Aspire series. The 15-inch Acer Aspire E 15 is the perfect entry-level work computer, running on an eighth-generation Intel Core i3-8130U CPU, 6GB of RAM, and a 1TB hard drive. It also can be upgraded easily. Just pop open the bottom of the laptop and add extra RAM, as well as faster solid-state drive storage, if you see fit.
