The Pilot Pro4 is a fantastic laptop charger that provides pass-through charging and can also power up your USB devices at the same time.
The POWERADD Pilot Pro4 is a little different from most power banks, as it’s designed to be a direct replacement for both your laptop and phone chargers. It includes three USB ports, a barrel connector, and comes with an assortment of laptop power adapters that provides pretty decent coverage.
Since you can never have enough power whiles travelling, Pilot Pro4 gives you the liberty to leave your laptop’s power adapter at home when you are going on a trip, it is as simple as putting a POWERADD Pilot Pro4 into my messenger bag, and taking it along with as you travel the world!
Design: Sleek and compact
The POWERADD Pilot Pro4 isn’t the best-looking power bank, but it definitely has its own style. The biggest issue is that the entire body of the unit is made of Aluminum-body but it ensures good heat dissipation and it has built-in temperate protection to protect your devices. LED light and button make it easy to check the remaining power. In terms of size, it’s about the size of a trade paperback, a little thinner, and significantly heavier. It’s small enough to slip into your briefcase, bag, or purse, but this isn’t a power bank that you’re going to want to carry around in your pocket.
The overall aesthetic is a little outdated when sitting next to new generation sleek laptops like HP Dragonfly but its small enough that it doesn’t get in the way or draw too much attention.
Initial Setup: Good to go after an initial charge
The initial setup is painless. Take the Pilot Pro4 out of the box, plug it into power, and you’re good to go. It’s a good idea to charge it to full before using it, which take close to three hours, but you can technically use it while it’s charging if your device doesn’t draw too much power.
If you want to use it to power your laptop, setup is just a little more complicated. First, you need to plug the included barrel connector into the appropriate jack, then locate the adapter tip that’s designed for your laptop, and plug it in.
The only way the process could be easier would be if the Pilot Pro4 was capable of selecting the correct voltage output automatically. For phones and other USB devices, that process actually is automatic.
The most important thing is that you can use the Pilot Pro4 as a charger while its own internal battery is charging.
Sockets and Ports
When it comes to sockets and ports, the Pilot Pro4 features an AC outlet, QC 3.0 and USB port cover major types of laptops and smart phones on the market, charging a laptop and 2 USB devices simultaneously with 3 levels voltage (5V 9V 12V) meeting needs for different multiple devices.
It decently covers a full range of laptop products from Sony, Toshiba, Lenovo, Acer, Asus, HP, Samsung, and Dell laptops.
While the coverage is pretty good, you’ll want to check to make sure that the package actually includes a tip that will work with your laptop.
Battery: 25600 mAh capacity, plenty of portable power
The Pilot Pro4 comes with the highest quality lithium-ion battery which contains 25600 mAh battery, and it automatically shut down when touching off overcharge protection, over-current protection, over-voltage protection, short-circuit protection or overload output. It has enough protection.enough juice to keep a power-hungry laptop like the HP Spectre x360 going all day out of the office, but it’s plenty if you have periodic access to power in your car, at a bar, or anywhere else you can plug in for a while.
The most important thing is that you can use the Pilot Pro4 as a charger while its own internal battery is charging. That you can safely leave your high-end laptop power adapter at home and run entirely off the Pilot Pro4. It charges its own internal battery slower when you ask it to simultaneously power other devices, but it saves the weight and space of packing both a power bank and a laptop power adapter.
Charging Speed: Automatically charges all smart phones
The Pilot Pro4 has three normal USB ports. It provides normal USB port, standard Power 25600mAh charge 7.5 times to iPhone 8, 4.6 times to Galaxy S8 with the fastest speed (5V/2.1A 5V/3A 9V/2A 12V/1.2A), an excellent coverage package.
Price: Excellent for the power you get
With a price of ₦33,000, and a battery capacity of 25600mAh, the POWERADD Pilot Pro4 excels when compared to other power banks that are bulkier or heavier but designed to operate solely as laptop power supplies. Instead of having a power outlet to plug in your own adapter, this unit can actually replace your current adapter for travel, or replace your adapter entirely if the old one is lost or broken.
Since you’re really getting two devices in one, the Pilot Pro4 price is an excellent bargain!
Replaces your laptop and phone chargers.
The Pilot Pro4 is a fantastic combination of a laptop charger, phone charger, and power bank. It’s a regular power bank, but the fact that it is able to totally replace both laptop and cell phone chargers in travel kits makes it an easy recommendation.
