Google has released Chrome 155 to the Stable channel with 247 security fixes, according to the Chrome Releases blog. The desktop update, version 155.0.8059.39/.40 for Windows and Mac and 155.0.8059.39 for Linux, will roll out over the coming days and weeks.
Four of the 247 fixes are rated Critical. Google lists 53 more as High severity, 122 as Medium, and 68 as Low. That count is far above recent Chrome security updates: the October 1 desktop update to version 154.0.8037.97 contained 11 fixes.
Chrome 155 is also out on Android as version 155.0.8059.39, reaching Google Play over the next few days, and on iOS as version 155.0.8059.37 through the App Store.
Google says Android releases contain the same security fixes as the corresponding desktop build unless otherwise noted. The new version arrives a week after Chrome 154.0.8037.92, which shipped with 32 security fixes on September 29.
Critical Chrome 155 Vulnerabilities and Who Reported Them
All four critical issues are use after free bugs. Google lists them in these components:
- Chromecast (CVE-2026-106382), reported by Google
- Browser (CVE-2026-106197), reported by Xinyang Ge
- Navigation (CVE-2026-106358), reported by Xinyang Ge of Anthropic, assisted by Claude
- Track (CVE-2026-106347), reported by Xinyang Ge of Anthropic, assisted by Claude
Among the high severity entries, Google lists a $5,000 bounty for an incorrect authorization issue in Site Isolation (CVE-2026-102322), while bounties for the critical bugs are listed as not applicable or still to be decided. Other high severity fixes cover the ANGLE graphics layer, Autofill, the Omnibox, the Translate feature, and Chrome for iOS.
Google keeps bug details and links restricted until a majority of users are updated with a fix. Restrictions stay in place longer when a bug sits in a third party library that other projects also depend on and have not yet fixed.
Chrome 155 reached the Stable channel in two steps. Google first pushed version 155.0.8059.26/.27 to a small percentage of Windows and Mac users on September 30 as an early stable release, before the wider rollout on October 6. Chrome 156 entered the Beta channel on September 30, and the Dev channel is already on version 157.
How to Update Chrome to Version 155
Because the rollout is gradual, some desktop installations will not receive Chrome 155 right away. Users can check for the update manually:
- Open the Chrome menu and select Help, then About Google Chrome.
- Wait for Chrome to check for and download version 155.
- Click Relaunch to finish installing the update.
On the same day, Google moved the Extended Stable channel to version 152.0.7977.158 for Windows and Mac. The Chrome Releases blog does not say whether any of the 247 vulnerabilities fixed in Chrome 155 have been exploited, and details of the four critical bugs remain restricted for now.
